A creative couple with a young family were looking for an extension to their semi-detached home in Keynsham. The house was in need of a separate utility room and a home office.
The existing house had been recently refurbished with a fun and contemporary interior that reflected the families flair for design.
The new extension provides a light, bright and tranquil space for working. Large frameless roof-lights flood the spaces with natural daylight. Carefully placed windows provide views out to the gardens at the front and rear, whilst retaining privacy. Pocket doors slide back into the walls to conceal a compact utility and boots room.
Externally the front elevation is clad in vertical timber slats. The natural timber provides a contemporary contrast to the traditional original house, and provides a jewel box quality.
